Michael, David and I are doing wonderfully. We're all still adjusting to our new life, but every second's been great. Baby boy is pretty calm - he sleeps most of the day between feedings and the nights are getting better and more consistent. Knock on wood, but he seems to sleep from around 10:30/11 p.m. to 4/4:30 a.m. giving Mommy and Daddy some good sleep before feeding time.
He was diagnosed with jaundaus a day after he was born and after lying under biliruben lights for days upon days, it looks like it's almost cleared up. His levels are at 13 and 18 and up is considered dangerous, so we're on the downward trend. Here's the bed he had to sleep in:
He isn't acting too differently since we brought him home, but his facial expressions are to die for. Smiles, coos, sticking his tongue out - very fun to watch.
He's been to the doctor nearly everyday to check his jaundaus (for biliruben levels) and we're both ready for some time off. David is back to work but meets us for doctor's appointments and comes home early when we need him. And I am off for another eight weeks or so - enjoying my time with little Michael before it's back to work time for Mommy too.

| When we arrived home from the hospital, Amy's Mom and Dad had a surprise - a giant stork in our front yard that announced to all of our neighbors and passerby's that we welcomed little Michael James. I've always wanted some type of announcement so this was a pleasant surprise. |
