In reality, baby boy had a runny nose and was having trouble breathing, so we were up with him trying to clear him out and make him feel better. But the other story sounds much nicer for his first Christmas morning.
When his Christmas morning finally did begin, it began on camera. Just like my Mom and Dad did for me and my sisters (and I should note, continue to do so on occasion), we video taped Mommy and baby coming down the stairs to see what Santa brought. We first skyped my family and opened up gifts they had purchased, and then David's family arrived and we did the same. We all got very nice presents and Santa and family were very kind to baby boy. We were all blessed this holiday season.
Not much to report on Michael. But here's the latest:
- He is definately gaining weight ... or I'm getting weaker, because that car seat with him in it is getting heavier and heavier.
- We like to go on "adventures" (errands) during the week and he's a great sport while Mommy runs around.
- We set-up a new tradition of having lunch with Daddy once a week every week, which David loves and gives him a nice break with two of his most favorite people in the world.
- He is making eye contact with people and gazes at you with those beautiful blues.
- He mimics you when you stick out your tongue - still working on him copying me smiling.
- He is finally paying attention when you shake a rattle or stuffed animal in front of you - he likes the colors and sound.
- When he's getting fussy he likes it when I sing to him. It's usually a mix-up of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star," "Momma's Going to Buy You..." and "You Are My Sunshine." Although I only know about one verse per song ... which is why it's a "mix-up." :)
Our little family is doing great and we're enjoying our time with each other before Mommy returns to work in early February (may that day come at a turtle's pace). Thank you all for your phone calls, visits, cards and gifts!
