Dreams Do Come True!

A New Family Adventure

David and I are lucky. Not only do we have good jobs, a wonderful home and our pride and joy little Michael James, but both of us have been able to accomplish our dreams. Mine was to live and work in NYC ("check") and his, to own his own automotive shop. Whether through Facebook or in-person, most of you likely know that after working as Trimax Locks' Director of Operations for more than eight years, David accomplished his dream and took over ownership of Buchtel Motors two weeks ago.

Buchtel has been around for 30 years and is located on S. Pearl Street in Denver - just down the way from Emily's home. It is a great location, has a loyal following, a four-bay garage to accommodate any make or model and three long-tenured employees. David is having the time of his life and Michael and I are SO proud of him! In fact, so far, Michael and I visit "Daddy's Shop" every Friday to hang out.

And this Saturday the community held its annual "Brew Grass" event, which draws thousands (6,000 in fact) to S. Pearl Street, and Buchtel represented for the first time ever (what a great Public Relations opportunity!). We gave away 250 branded koozies (that equaled 10% off their next service) in just 6 hours with people wanting more! It was a great time for us to introduce David to the community and meet some new customers (here's hoping...).

And Emily stopped by too to join-in on the fun - thanks to Emily for promoting David's business to all of her friends (love you sis)!

The main shop.
There are three additional bays in another nearby location.

David was excited to work on this 1965 mustang his first week!

David in his new office - first week on the job!

My boys representing the new business.
Michael was his usual precious self so David and I can't take all the credit for the success!

Future Buchtel customers?! We hope so!
As you can see, the giveaways were a huge success!

Michael just LOVES the shop's ATV!

We also gave away some fun mustaches for folks that stopped by our table - Michael had to get-in on the fun!

You lookin' at me?!

I couldn't help myself! He was sooo cute in his little blue mustache.

More future Buchtel customers (we hope) that loved the giveaways!

It started raining and hailing so Buchtel opened its garage bay and let folks inside.
It's been a good first two weeks with more exciting business updates to come! Congrats honey - we're with you all the way!

Father's Day

Today has been a fun day! It was David's day and he could choose whatever he wanted to do. So, after breakfast and gifts (artwork to decorate his new office), we went to a car show, lunch, a carnival and we plan to play some tennis and go to the batting cages once Michael awakes from his nap. Check out our day so far:

If you didn't already know from past blog postings, Michael LOVES carousel's. So, he rode this one three times.

On the Ferris Wheel!

David "the Hulk" - will he win a prize?

No - but he was very, very close :)

At the car show, one of the owner's let Michael sit in his car.

I had to take a selfie on the Ferris Wheel - nerd alert.
Michael is so lucky to have David as a Father - he makes Michael laugh, is patient, teaches him new things and snuggles with him when he needs snuggling. Happy Father's Day honey!
