Spring Comes Early!

This weekend Denver set a record-breaking high of 75 degrees and as usual, we made the best of it. In the spirit of St. Patrick's Day we attended a parade where Michael was front row for all the action. We also went on a hike at Lair O' the Bear Park where we discovered a castle! And finally, we went golfing... well, David went golfing and Michael had a blast trying.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

Most people wouldn't put Denver and St. Patrick's Day in the same sentence, but Denver celebrates with the best of them and I think if memory serves me right, our parade is the largest west of the Mississippi. Anyway, it's a fun time downtown and Michael got-in on the action this year.

Before the parade we made a trip to the local Dollar Tree to get some "flare." He actually wore a "Kiss Me" green shirt for the parade and was not having it with the glasses or hat the day-of, but oh well... that's why we went to the Dollar Tree.

It pays to get downtown early - front row for the festivities!

This guy was his favorite because there was audience participation and he got to yell/scream.

This mustache lasted .5 seconds but I'm thankful he let me snap a picture.

Lair O' the Bear Park - Hike & a Castle

Sunday was absolutely lovely so we headed west to a local favorite, Lair O' the Bear Park. After a 1.5 mile hike through some patches of snow and ice, we discovered a hidden castle. Story is the owner of a local gold mine owns the property and it's been named one of Colorado's must-see castles.

Loves his "hiking sticks"

Most stretches of the hike were snow-free and gorgeous.

He was king of the rocks and just HAD to climb atop every rock he encountered.

Some parts of this snowy path were treacherous but we made it successfully to the castle.

And there it is, through the trees.

The even had a royal nameplate inside their gated cobblestone bridge entry - so authentic...

Golfing in March

Michael exclaims that he LOVES to golf, to David's delight. We enjoyed playing 9-holes on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, after a rooftop deck lunch in downtown Littleton.

Perfect day, perfect company.

So needless to say we're doing well over here. And baby girl is still kicking away, getting ready for her arrival in 12 more weeks... it will be here before we know it. I've had fun buying some new clothes for her and getting her room all ready for her arrival.
