Drum Roll Please ...

This was our kitchen when we bought our home in 2007. We made some minor improvements by painting the cabinets white and installing new hardware, but it was only a bandaid for what was really needed ...

So, six years later we gutted, lifted and ventured to build the modern kitchen of our dreams ...

And it's 95% complete thanks to David and his Dad, who I owe the world ...

We ripped out the wall to our formal dining room to open the area up, moved our peninsula a foot into the breakfast nook, installed built-in's, replaced the laminate with tile, raised the ceiling a food and installed canister lighting with dimmers and more. And our first meal was David's world-famous chicken parm, it was delicious and a great way to christen our kitchen.

Aside from some additional tiling, putting in a backsplash and some toe kicks, we're pretty darn close to having a 2013 kitchen in a 1976 home. Next up - hardwood floors for our downtstairs living area.
