Eggs, Eggs and More Eggs

Sadly, another Easter has come and gone. But this year, Michael really got the hang of things. The weekend started off with a community Easter egg hunt. He proudly walked around and explored the park while we were waiting, waved at the Easter bunny with excitement and watched all the other kids run around waiting for the "hunt" to begin.

Michael was in the 1 - 3 year old area and with 25,000 eggs for the picking throughout the park, there was plenty to go around. The horn blew, all the kids starting running towards the eggs and I hurried, Michael in my arms, over to some eggs so he'd get a chance to snag a few. He had an absolute blast picking them up, putting them in his pail and proceeding to take them back out again - over and over and over again.

On Sunday morning we went to church where Michael got to play with some other kids his age and then the cooking began. We ate some honey ham, roasted red potatoes, asparagus, green bean casserole, rolls and oh so delicious deviled eggs. Emily and her old high school friend Billy, who recently relocated to Colorado, came to join us, and after dinner we held another Easter egg hunt in our front yard, followed by some egg dying and a fun derby cart ride that Emily and Billy took in the neighborhood.

Easter was so much fun this year and I know next year and every holiday from this point forward will be better than the last thanks to one special little boy. Enjoy some pics from our special weekend:

So what's next on Estes Family Corner? Home remodeling! Yep, we're completely gutting and re-modeling our kitchen and replacing our carpet in the downstairs living area with hardwoods. Lots of hard work but David's Dad is on his way to town now to put some blood, sweat and tears into the project - okay, hopefully no blood ... We're looking forward to our new downstairs and will share pictures along the way.

Until next time, love you all.
