4 Months Old Already

Believe it or not, Michael hit his four month mark on March 24 and is well on his way to five months old. Wow. It seems like just yesterday we were holding him for the first time.

Yesterday we met with his pediatrician Dr. Frand - who, by the way, is named Michael and whose office is on Estes St. ... it was meant to be - for his four month wellness exam. He's doing wonderfully.

He weighed-in at 13 lbs., 15 ounces - in the 25th percentile. And he's a little guy at 24 inches - in the 10th percentile. Pretty sure I'm to blame for that with my 5'3" frame. He's also reaching all of his developmental milestones:
  • Makes eye contact
  • Smiles
  • Laughs
  • Squeals with excitement (my favorite these days)
  • Reaches and grabs his toys
  • Rolls over (from his tummy to his back)
  • Sits up with support
  • He's also discovered his hands and if he could just fit his whole hand in his mouth he'd be happy ...
He also got three more shots which are his favorite - not! We were smiling and playing and they snuck attack his little thighs when he wasn't looking. Poor little Michael - he stuck that little pouty bottom lip out and cried his little eyes out. But Mommy and Daddy were there to comfort him and he's a-okay now.

The only catch with the appointment? His head is still a little misshapen so we're seeing a specialist in a couple of weeks to determine if he needs a corrective helmet or not. Dr. Frand thinks his case is moderate but still recommended we see a specialist to confirm. So, April 17 we'll find out and go from there.

But he's a happy little boy and to reward his bravery we visited the Easter Bunny.

We have big plans this weekend that includes coloring some eggs, seeing what the Easter Bunny might leave for Michael and having a nice Easter meal that next year he'll be able to enjoy. Oh and speaking of solid foods, in a few short weeks we'll be giving some pureed peas a try - yum!

I'll be sure and post a blog about Easter for everyone, but until then - these should brighten your day (courtesy of my Mom):
