Getting Ready for the Helmet

On Friday we took Michael to the Children's Hospital to get measured for the corrective helmet. They put him in a do-rag to cover his hair and although not the style I'd prefer, he still looked very cute given the circumstances.

Then it was time to put him into a new laser machine that took an image of his little noggin to get the exact measurements they need to create a helmet just for him. The doctor told us it took most kids about five times to get the perfect image of their head since babies tend to want to move around and not stay still. He noted it could take up to 20 times. Michael ... one time. Good baby boy :)

We'll get the helmet May 21 and then it's 22 hours a day for a minimum of four months. Oh and we picked out the light blue colored helmet. We'll decorate it and make it special for Michael.

More pictures to come once he has his helmet. And to be honest, we're ready for it - all this waiting makes us want to hurry and get it done.
